My Cybersecurity major required I take a class called “Cybersecurity Techniques and Operations” also known as “CYSE 301.” In that class, we had to do a project to hide a text file inside an image. The project stated that each student needed to submit a text file containing the answers to the following questions: First, what kind of sound files can be hidden with the S-Tools? Second, what kind of picture files can be hidden with the S-Tools? Last, what is your expected letter grade for this course?
The second part of this assignment includes hiding this text file into the cover image called “monarch.bmp” in the Windows 7 VM by using steghide. Use your own Midas ID (all lower case) as the password to encrypt the file and save the new image with your UIN, for example (“01000558.bmp”). Then we Submit the new image on Blackboard. The assignment also stressed the fact that the submission file needs to include the format our UIN plus a .bmp extension or the grading script won’t be able to decrypt the submission format.
Below is the .bmp file.
